It's official - this weekend's blizzard is turning into a real one-two punch with another major storm heading our way today into Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the area, and says the heaviest snow will cover eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Predictions currently call for 12-20 inches, with Montgomery and Bucks counties squarely in the middle of the target zone for the heaviest snowfall.

Our most common issue is that we come in and keep roads open during heavy storms. People come out and shovel their walk and once we get into clean-up mode and push curb to curb, now we are plowing and closing in the end of driveways   -John Wolff

FORMER Labor MP Mike Kaiser was far from the only senior staff member of the national broadband network hired without their positions advertised or a candidate shortlist compiled, it has been revealed. As the opposition labelled Mr Kaiser's appointment the result of a "corrupted process", new information revealed that others had been given the inside running on lucrative senior roles. A senate estimates committee on Monday heard that Mr Kaiser was appointed to the $450,000-a-year role as NBN Co's gove

Body scanners will be introduced at Australian international airports next year as part of a $200 million Federal Government plan to boost security. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said the measures were recommended to the Government in the wake of the Christmas Day terrorism attack, when a man allegedly attempted to set off a bomb on a flight to Detroit in the US. The body scanners will be rolled out at international airports from next year to screen travellers departing from Australia.

The Government's priority is to maximise the safety and security of Australians and the Australian travelling public   -Kevin Rudd

A Wilmington-area man was arrested for allegedly robbing a Rite-Aid drug store at 4607 Stanton Ogletown Road, south of Newark, in the late afternoon of Feb. 7. He was identified by the Delaware State Police as Kevin Smith, 45, of Shea Circle,Wilmington. Troopers reported that a white male robber entered the store and approached the clerk.

The deaths of three snowmobilers in the last week should send a loud message, said Kevin Hagen, manager of Elmvalebased Mid Ontario Snowmobile Trails (MOST). Though Hagen says lack of snow wasn't a factor, careless snowmobilers could find themselves in trouble if they don't ride according to conditions. "There is a little less snow so you have to be a little more careful because it's harder to steer in corners," Hagen said.

A PROP dummy from a film set was last seen floated towards Pagham after falling from Bognor Pier. The dummy, nicknamed John, was lost on Sunday, February 6, from the set of a rockumentary titled Punk Strut, being filmed on Bognor Pier.
