Why are teachers trying to block the release of their personal information (Plain Dealer, Nov. 14)? Simply put, because it is our personal information. Since when does being a school employee mean that access to my personal data -- home address, telephone and e-mail -- is the right and privilege of all citizens?

Johnson turned a lap of 173.919 mph yesterday to top qualifying at Homestead-Miami Speedway, a big boost for the Hendrick Motorsports star as he tries to become the first driver in NASCAR history to win four consecutive championships. But football isn't stealing all the headlines, with 10 city stars sporting a new furry look. The club has decided to get involved in Movember, a charity month aimed at raising funds and awareness for men's health issues such as testicular and prostate cancer.

A meeting of the party faithful in Melbourne today called for the Federal Government to change the Marriage Act to allow gay couples to marry. A similar motion was passed at Tasmania's state Labor conference in July.
